Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller is a year-round, rain-or-shine, producer-only Sunday market organized under F2M Texas. Farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers are inspected to confirm they grow what they sell, use sustainable practices, and treat animals humanely.

For nearly 50 years, Sustainable Food Center has improved access to nutritious food for Texans—supporting farmers, increasing consumer purchasing power, and sharing knowledge and skills so communities can prepare delicious meals with fresh, local ingredients. Programs include Double Up Food Bucks Texas, The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre cooking classes, producer-only SFC Farmers’ Markets, farmer support, and food policy advocacy.

Austin’s original farmers market, begun in 1987. Barton Creek Farmers Market is a weekly open-air market supporting Texas small farms and ranches, with over 90% of vendors selling what they grow or produce—produce, dairy, meats, prepared foods, and artisans.

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown is a producer-only market at historic Republic Square, operated by Sustainable Food Center since 2003. Staff visit each farm and ranch to confirm products are locally sourced and ethically produced. Open Saturdays 9 AM–1 PM with roughly 40 weekly vendors; accepts SNAP Lone Star, WIC, and Double Up Food Bucks Texas.

Farmshare Austin grows organic food and farmers while expanding healthy food access through Fresh for Less Mobile Markets and home delivery across Austin. The nonprofit also runs CSA shares and farmer training; its farm is not open to the public except for special events.

Central Texas Food Bank’s Food Hub Program aggregates local farm and ranch products for school districts, creating an institutional channel that supports small-scale producers while supplying fresh foods for student meals. Launched with Lake Travis ISD, Manor ISD, and Florence ISD; CTFB has stated interest in expanding the model to other institutional buyers.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley is Sustainable Food Center’s south Austin producer-only market at Toney Burger Center, open since 2010. Saturdays 9 AM–1 PM with about 35 weekly vendors; the same farm-visit standards and SNAP/WIC Double Up Food Bucks Texas benefits as the downtown market.
