Sister Pie is a corner bakery in Detroit’s West Village serving pies, cookies, breakfast, and lunch. The menu is nontraditional in flavor combinations, rustic in execution, and constantly changing to honor Michigan’s local agriculture. Founded by Lisa Ludwinski—first as a Thanksgiving 2012 home bake of forty pies, then through FoodLab and Build Institute—the brick-and-mortar shop opened April 24, 2015 at Parker and Kercheval. Sister Pie’s mission is to celebrate the seasons through pie; provide consistently delicious, thoughtful food; and foster a welcoming environment through transparency, community engagement, and education.
