Detroit Black Community Food Sovereignty Network (D-Town Farm)

The Detroit Black Community Food Sovereignty Network (DBCFSN) is a grassroots nonprofit advancing Black food sovereignty, environmental justice, and community power in Detroit. Since 2008 it has operated D-Town Farm—more than seven acres inside Rouge Park’s Meyers Tree Nursery—where staff and volunteers grow 30+ fruits, vegetables, and herbs with sustainable, regenerative methods. Produce is sold at the farm and farmers markets; the Network also sponsors Detroit Food Commons and related cooperative work, including shared commercial kitchens.
