Kusanya Cafe opened in November 2013 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit coffee shop and creative community space in Englewood. It serves coffee, all-day breakfast, and lunch; hosts community and arts events; and offers job training and apprenticeship. Coffee is roasted on-site in small batches (single origins such as Ethiopia, Congo, and El Salvador in season, plus blends including Wolf Blend). Beans are sold by the pound at the café, online for continental U.S. shipping, and at Dill Pickle Food Co-Op in Logan Square. Catering is available for groups of about 10–50. The organization is sustained by café sales, individual donations, and small grants.
