Sassy Cajun Spices

Sassy Cajun Spices, based in Hahnville, Louisiana, has operated for ten years producing shrimp stew, boudin, gumbo mix, jambalaya mix, hand-mixed spice blends, and five varieties of Cajun dips. Owner Sandra Smith draws recipes from the Pointe-Aux-Chenes tribe in Terrebonne Parish, of which she and her mother are members, continuing traditions passed down by her grandparents and other tribal members. The gumbo mix is designed as a convenient meal component requiring only the addition of water, vegetables, and protein to prepare in approximately thirty minutes. Sells at the Crescent City Farmers Market in New Orleans.
