About
The Village Market Place Food Hub, a social enterprise of Community Services Unlimited (CSU), consists of The Village Market Place Store, the SoulFul Café, a food distribution & commercial space, and an urban farm. Created in 2007 to meet demand for affordable, beyond-organic, culturally appropriate food in South Central Los Angeles, VMP aims to increase access to healthy local foods, create local jobs, and expand support for regional small farmers and local small business owners. The store offers seasonal produce, organic pantry items, vegan options, and natural body/home products; EBT shoppers receive a 75% discount on produce every day. A weekly produce-bag subscription program sources from CSU’s urban mini-farm and local farmers.
